Abstract

|
연구목적: 다문화 청소년의 생애 초기의 차별 경험은 전 생애에 걸쳐 우울감에 영향을 미치고 건강에 부정적인 효과를 나타내는 것으로 알려져 있다 본 연구의 목적은 다문화 청소년과 어머니의 차별 경험과 우울감이 다문화 청소년의 우울감에 미치는 영향과 성별에 따른 차이를 확인하기 위함이다.
연구방법: 본 연구는 2018년 전국다문화가족실태조사의 원시자료를 이용한 이차자료분석연구이다 연구대상자는 총 2,446명으로 11-18세인 청소년과 어머니의 우울감, 차별 경험, 청소년의 학교 폭력, 학업성적 변수 등을 포함하였다 빈도 분석, 상관 분석, 순서형 로지스틱 회귀분석을 시행하였고 SPSS/WIN 250과 STATA IC 16 software 프로그램을 사용하였다.
결과: 전체 다문화 청소년의 184%(남 151%, 여 205%)가 지난 1년간 2주 연속으로 슬프거나 좌절감을 느끼고, 다문화 청소년의 83%와 그들의 어머니 296%는 차별을 경험한 것으로 나타났다 남자 청소년의 우울감 영향요인 중 학교 폭력(OR=517, 95% CI: 285-938), 학업성적(매우 나쁘다고 응답한 군의 OR=579, 95% CI: 154-2163), 어머니의 우울감(자주 느꼈다고 응답한 군의 OR=231, 95% CI: 114-464)이 여자 청소년에 비해 더 높은 것으로 나타났다 여자 청소년의 우울감 영향요인 중 본인의 차별 경험(OR=272, 95% CI: 169-439)이 남자 청소년에 비해 더 높은 것으로 나타났다.
결론: 본 연구를 통하여 다문화 청소년과 어머니가 한국 사회에서 경험하는 차별 경험은 다문화 청소년의 우울감을 증가시키고 성별에 따라 미치는 영향이 다름을 확인하였다 따라서, 다문화 청소년의 우울감을 예방하기 위한 중재는 젠더특이적이면서 어머니를 포함한 전략이 요구된다.

Purpose: Discrimination experienced in the early stages of life among ethnic minority adolescents is known toaffect depression and also adversely affect health throughout adulthood and old age The purpose of this studywas to identify whether discrimination experienced by ethnic minority adolescents and their mothers anddepression among mothers affect depression in ethnic minority adolescents according to gender.
Methods: Thiswas a cross-sectional study using the data of 2018 National Multicultural Family Survey in Korea The study samplecomprised 2,446 ethnic minority adolescents aged 11~18 and their mothers The data were analyzed usingdescriptive statistics, pearson correlation analysis, and ordinal logistic regression with SPSS/WIN 250 andSTATA IC 16.
Results: 184% of the adolescents (boys: 151%, girls: 205 %) felt sad or frustrated sometimesor more often for at least two weeks during the past year Also, 83% of the adolescents and 296% of their mothersexperienced discrimination during the past year Boys were influenced more than girls by bullying at school(OR=517, 95% CI: 285~938), academic performance (very bad’s OR=579, 95% CI: 154~2163) and mother’sdepression (often’s OR=231, 95% CI: 114~464) Girls were influenced more than boys by experience ofdiscrimination (OR=272, 95% CI: 169~439).
Conclusion: The findings showed that discrimination experiencedby ethnic minority adolescents and their mothers in Korean society increases depression in ethnic minorityadolescents and has different effects by gender Therefore, a gender-specific and mother-inclusive interventionis recommended to prevent depression in ethnic minority adolescents.
